Gearboxes are widely used in various industries. What are the installation and precautions for gearboxes? Taixing Huadong Gearbox Manufacturing Co., Ltd. believes that the following precautions should be taken during installation and trial operation, with the last three points being particularly important:

When necessary, protective devices should be installed on the transmission connecting parts of the reducer, such as protrusions on the connecting parts or the use of gears, sprockets, etc. If the output shaft bears a large radial load, a reinforced type should also be selected.

2. There are various types of couplings available for the reducer, but it is not advisable to use rigid fixed couplings as they are difficult to install. Improper installation can increase the load capacity and easily cause damage to the bearings, even leading to the fracture of the output shaft.

When installing transmission components on the output shaft of the reducer, care must be taken to operate them gently. Rough installation with tools such as hammers is prohibited. It is better to use assembly fixtures and internal threads of the end shaft for installation, and press the transmission components into the reducer with the force of bolts to protect the internal parts of the reducer from damage.

4. Before running the gearbox, it is necessary to prepare for operation by removing the vent plug from the oil tank and replacing it with a vent plug. Open the oil level plug screw to check the oil line height, add lubricating oil beyond the oil level plug screw until the hole overflows, and then tighten the oil level plug to confirm that it is correct before starting the trial operation.

5. The installation position of the reducer should ensure the ease of operation for the staff, including easy access to the vernier, vent plug, and drain plug positions. After the installation of the reducer is completed, the inspector should comprehensively check the accuracy of the installation position in order and determine the reliability of each fastener.

6. The trial operation time of the reducer should not be less than two hours. The standard for normal operation is that it runs smoothly, without vibration, noise, leakage, or impact. If any abnormal situation occurs, it should be promptly eliminated.

7. The fixing of the reducer is very important to ensure stability and firmness. Generally speaking, we should install the reducer on a horizontal foundation or base, and the oil in the oil drain groove should be able to be discharged, and the cooling air circulation should be smooth. Poor fixation and unreliable foundation of the reducer can cause vibration and unnecessary damage to the bearings and gears.

When installing the reducer, special attention should be paid to the alignment of the transmission center axis, and the alignment error should not exceed the compensation amount of the coupling used in the reducer. After the reducer is aligned according to the requirements, it can achieve more ideal transmission effect and longer service life.

9. Before use, please add sufficient heavy-duty industrial closed gear oil, with the oil level above the centerline of the oil gauge, to ensure that the dynamic oil level is not lower than the centerline of the oil gauge after startup. The specific lubricating oil grades are as follows:

Environmental temperature -20 ℃ -10 ℃: brand L-CKD220 (GB5903)

Environmental temperature 10 ℃ -45 ℃: brand L-CKD320 (GB5903)

10. Lubricating oil replacement cycle: The gearbox must be replaced with new oil after running for 500-800 hours for the first time (or replacing new gears). After normal operation, the new oil should be replaced every 3000-3600 hours. The operating temperature of the lubricating oil should not exceed 80 ℃
